1. ORDER QUESTIONS

How do I order the 2010 Stylebook?
Go to http://www.apbookstore.com/ and click on the bright red "order now" button to place your order on our secure website. You can order with a credit card or create an invoice to pay by check or money order. News organizations that are AP members can add Stylebook charges to their regular assessments. Pricing remains the same as our 2009 book and the ISBN number is 978-0-917360-54-1.

Is the 2009 Associated Press Stylebook available?

No, it is no longer available. The ISBN number is 978-0-917360-53-4
 
How do I place an order if I need to pay by check?
Fill out your order on http://www.apbookstore.com/. This will take you to an order form that allows you to calculate your total charges, indicate you would like to pay by check or money order, then click on 'create an invoice' to generate an invoice to include when you mail in your check.

We do not ship books or activate an online stylebook subscription until we receive your check.

How can I get a W-9 form from the AP before I place my order?
E-mail orders@apbookstore.com with your request for a W-9 and we will e-mail you a PDF of a completed form.

Where do I send returns?
AP does not accept returns for any of its books. Please carefully order only the number you will need.

What are the shipping rates?
You can view the shipping rates here.

Can I get a discount for my bulk order?
We do not discount based on the size of your order. We try to price the Stylebook and Stylebook Online reasonably whether you are purchasing just one book or several hundred. Special rates apply only to AP members and college bookstores. College bookstores can apply for a discount code by clicking here.

Who qualifies for the college bookstore discount?
Any bookstore primarily serving a college or university. (Trade bookstores can contact publisher Perseus Books for the AP Stylebook Perseus sells for their needs. http://www.perseusbooksgroup.com/perseus/contact_us.jsp)

What do I do if I forget or lose my college discount code?
Please send your bookstore information to college_requests@apbookstore.com. We will provide you with your discount code.

2. RATES

How much is the 2009 AP Stylebook?
The spiral-bound AP Stylebook is $18.95 a copy. News organizations that are AP members can pay a discounted rate of $11.75 a copy. College bookstores can buy the book wholesale for $11.75. Shipping is additional.

How much is the AP Stylebook Online?
Rates are based on the number of users, and the cost per user decreases as you add more users to your site license. Annual subscription rates start at $25 for an individual user, with discounts for AP members and for renewing customers.

 3. EXISTING CUSTOMERS

What is the status of my AP Stylebook order?
If you entered a valid e-mail address when you placed your order, you should receive an e-mail with the tracking information when the warehouse fulfills your order. If you have not yet received an e-mail with tracking information, contact orders@apbookstore.com and we can check on the status of your order.

How can I get a copy of an invoice for an order I placed previously?
Send an e-mail to orders@apbookstore.com Tell us your name, your business name (if applicable), what you ordered and when, and we will e-mail you back a link to your order. You can print the page, generate a PDF file of your invoice or edit your order if it hasn't already been processed.
If you saved your confirmation e-mail when you made your purchase, you can click on the link in that message to go directly to your order.

How can I get help if my order isn't going through?
E-mail orders@apbookstore.com to tell us what problem you are experiencing. Tell us your name and the name of your company (if applicable) to help us check our systems for any problems with your pending order.

4. STYLEBOOK ONLINE

I forgot my password to log into AP Stylebook Online. How can I get it reset?
Individual subscribers should go to http://www.apstylebook.com/online/ and click on the "Forgot Your Password?" link and a new password will be e-mailed to you.

Site License administrators should follow the same process, but by going to https://www.apstylebook.com/editors/.

I placed an order for the AP Stylebook Online but I haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail, or I haven't been able to log in. How can I get help?
E-mail us at tech@apstylebook.com. Tell us your name and the name of your company (if applicable) and we will look for the problem.

Your annual subscription does not start until the first time you log in so if you encounter any difficulties logging in initially, you will still get the full year's subscription you paid for.

How do I know when my AP Stylebook Online subscription is due to expire?
Go to http://www.apstylebook.com and scroll all the way down to 'account manager' at the bottom of the screen. Click on that, and on the account manager page, you will see the date you created your account and when it will need to be renewed.

Click on the "renew now" button to renew with a credit card or create an invoice to include with a check.

AP Stylebook Online offers multiple-user site licenses, such as 25 users and 50 users. What do those user numbers mean?
AP Stylebook Online rates are based on individual named users. That means each user gets his or her own user name and password. These rates are based on the number of total users, or seats, not the number of simultaneous users at any time.

What are the features of the AP Stylebook Online?
The AP Stylebook Online takes the standard-setting AP Stylebook and adds online functionality. It is searchable and it's updated live as the AP adds or changes its style listings. You can use it from your work computer, your home computer, anyplace you have an Internet connection. If you have multiple users at your organization or business, you can buy a site license and get the ability to share your own local style notes across your organization.

We no longer offer PDF or HTML files of the Stylebook. We hope you will find the Web-based AP Stylebook Online is a better product with more functionality.

5. STYLEBOOK QUESTIONS

Is there electronic version of the AP Stylebook?
Yes. The Associated Press currently offers a Web-based subscription edition that is fully searchable and lets you include your own style examples, notes and entries.

6. ASSOCIATED PRESS QUESTIONS

How can I become an AP member?
The Associated Press offers two types of membership, regular and associate. Regular membership is available to printed newspapers published in the United States. Most regular members are daily newspapers. Associate membership is available to daily newspapers, some weekly newspapers and broadcast stations. Both regular and associate members receive AP news and photos, and share costs in and contribute news to the cooperative; regular members agree to contribute news exclusively to the AP. Regular members alone are entitled to vote in elections for the AP Board of Directors.

We are members of the AP. How do I get my SID code to claim my member discount?
If you have a question about whether your organization is a member of the AP, or you need your SID code to qualify for your member discount, contact your local AP bureau. A list of bureaus and their contact information is available at http://www.ap.org/pages/contact/contact.html
